For our client, a leading company that provides EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) solutions for large-scale PV power plants, we are looking for a MV/HV Commissioning Technician.
Description
Perform and supervise MV cable jointing and cable termination works;
Perform electrical measurements and tests on MV/HV cables and equipment;
Operate and use testing and measurement equipment for insulation resistance, continuity, sheath testing, VLF and other electrical tests;
Support testing and commissioning of MV switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors and HV equipment;
Perform visual and mechanical inspections of electrical equipment;
Support protection relay and secondary circuit testing;
Check control circuits, interlocks, trip/close circuits and equipment signals;
Read and understand single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and cable schedules;
Assist with equipment energisation and de-energisation activities according to approved procedures;
Identify defects and deviations and report them to the responsible engineer;
Record measurement results and complete commissioning and testing documentation;
Work together with engineers, commissioning teams, EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers;
Follow all electrical safety, LOTO, PPE and HSE requirements.
Requirements
Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics or a related field.
Practical experience with MV electrical installations is preferred.
Knowledge of MV cables, cable joints and terminations.
Experience using electrical testing and measurement equipment.
Basic knowledge of MV/HV switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
Ability to read electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
Good computer skills for completing test reports and technical documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a commissioning team.
Willingness to travel and work at PV plants and substations.
Good safety awareness and disciplined approach to electrical work.
