Junior BESS Engineer
Company description
For our client, a leading company that provides EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) solutions for large-scale PV power plants, we are looking for a Junior BESS Engineer.
Description
Support the operation and maintenance of BESS systems, including batteries, PCS, BMS and auxiliary systems;
Monitor and analyse SCADA/PLC alarms, events and equipment status;
Support troubleshooting of communication and control issues between BMS, PCS, EMS, PLC and SCADA;
Assist with the parameterisation and configuration of PCS and battery systems according to approved settings;
Support the configuration, testing and troubleshooting of protection relays and secondary circuits:
Read and understand electrical diagrams, SLDs, control schematics and wiring diagrams;
Support testing of digital/analogue signals, interlocks, trip circuits and control circuits;
Use manufacturer-specific software for equipment configuration, diagnostics, parameterisation and event analysis;
Support commissioning, testing and maintenance activities at BESS sites;
Collect and analyse equipment logs, alarms and fault records;
Maintain configuration files, technical documentation and maintenance reports;
Support senior engineers during technical interventions and troubleshooting activities;
Follow all electrical safety, LOTO and HSE procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation or a related field;
Previous experience with PV plants, substations, SCADA, PLCs, protection relays or PCS/BESS equipment is considered an advantage but is not mandatory;
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, protection systems and control circuits;
Basic understanding of SCADA, PLC, PCS, BMS and battery systems;
Basic knowledge of protection relays and secondary circuits;
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics;
Good computer skills and ability to work with technical/manufacturer software;
Ability to learn new equipment platforms and software quickly;
Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU is an advantage;
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills;
Good English communication skills;
Willingness to travel to BESS/PV sites.
