For our client, a multinational company, we are looking for a Head of Sun Protection Division (Principal Investigator), in Bucharest
Description
Guiding and overseeing the Sun Protection division, while guaranteeing top-tier team execution and deep proficiency in UVA, SPF, and related testing protocols;
Shaping and executing the department long-term vision, while matching day-to-day operational goals with global business growth;
Serving as the primary departmental ambassador both inside and outside the company, showcasing specialized knowledge at industry events, in papers, and across professional circles;
Supervising laboratory capacity, resource allocation, and daily workflows to maximize study throughput and quality;
Securing total alignment with global regulatory frameworks and standards (such as FDA, ISO, and EU regulations) regarding sun care claims;
Pushing forward ongoing improvement programs, including quality control updates, SOP upgrades, and digital transformation tools;
Stepping in to run laboratory trials directly whenever necessary to maintain seamless operations and service delivery;
Advancing and upholding high scientific standards by incorporating cutting-edge testing formats (combining in vivo, in vitro, and blended techniques);
Assisting commercial growth efforts by helping win new accounts, structuring client proposals, and defining scientific market position;
Cultivating deep partnerships with clients, fostering trust, scientific authority, and long-term collaboration;
Tracking shifting market guidelines and scientific updates (new UV blockers, testing methodologies, and claims) to stay ahead of market demands;
Fulfilling the role of a certified and legally responsible Principal Investigator for all solar testing projects;
Evaluating and authorizing final trial documentation, leveraging a background of over five years as a validated signatory in the sun protection field.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years as a Principal Investigator and authorized report signatory for in vivo sun protection trials (SPF/UVA);
Deep knowledge of cosmetic clinical testing standards, regulatory claims, scientific writing, and protocol supervision;
Scientific degree (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Biomedical Sciences) and fluency in English;
Technical team leadership, client-facing credibility, rigorous quality mindset (SOPs, audits), and strong analytical communication.
