For our client, an important player in the FMCG market, in their Bucharest office, we are looking for a Chief Accountant.
Description
Coordinating the accounting function for all Romanian activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and group standards;
Preparing and submitting statutory financial statements, tax declarations, and monthly closings;
Overseeing accounting operations, including general ledger, AR/AP, fixed assets, and inventory accounting;
Leading, mentoring, and supervising the accounting team based in the production unit location;
Ensuring timely reporting in accordance with group guidelines, presenting financial statements to the management monthly;
Collaborating with auditors, tax consultants, and authorities during audit and control missions;
Participating in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes;
Liaising with group finance teams in Italy and ensuring alignment with corporate procedures;
Ensuring compliance with all fiscal, financial, and legal requirements;
Handling other accounting activities, which will be defined and can be performed remotely;
Visiting the production unit location at least twice per month to coordinate with local teams and support operational alignment.
Requirements
Holding a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Having at least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or chief accountant position;
Demonstrating strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislation;
Having experience with IFRS and group reporting (multinational experience is a plus);
Speaking English fluently (Italian is a plus);
Being proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools;
Showing leadership, accuracy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
Being available to travel occasionally (2 days/month).
