Azure Virtual Machines Support Engineer

Company description

For our client, the largest multinational technology corporation which produces computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services, we are looking for a dynamic Support Engineer to create impact by joining remotely the Azure Virtual Machines Unit, for a period of 18 months contract.

Description


Working knowledge of troubleshooting tools including Sysinternals, Fiddler, Netmon, NetStat, Tracert;
Being responsible for the great customer support experience;
Owning, troubleshooting and solving customer technical issues, using collaboration, troubleshooting best practices and transparency within and across teams;
Identifying cases that require escalation (either technically or strategically);
Creating and maintaining incident management requests to product group or engineering group;
Contributing to case deflection initiatives, automation and other digital self-help assets to improve customer and engineer experience;
Driving technical collaboration and engagement outside of CSS (Product Engineering teams, Services, Support, Regions).

Requirements


Conceptual knowledge of Azure IaaS deployments and administration​;
Familiarity with OS Internals concepts, built-in diagnostics, Active Directory and Security (Windows and or Linux)​;
Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration​;
Familiarity with SAN/NAS, Hyper-V/VMWare, iSCSI​;
Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, NAT, DNS​ ;
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions​;
Familiarity with one, or more, shell environments (BASH, sh, tcsh, ksh, etc.)​;
Experience administering Linux (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration);
Familiarity with core OS services such as: SSH, telnet, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP;​
Troubleshooting skills in Network and DNS​.
