#AskaRecruiter|George Buricea

You are invited to meet our colleagues from Lugera – The People Republic, to discover their stories and to learn from their experiences. Any questions or curiosities? Leave us a comment below and we will gladly answer it!

George was challenged by Nic to take #AskaRecruiter interview and to tell us a little bit more about his passions and his journey within Lugera. When he found out that he’s going to be the next one on our list, he didn’t know what to expect…especially because he was used to be the one to ask the questions. We received a real lesson about sport….and life 😊.

Before we get to know better George, let’s see if did you know

… he volunteered for children with autism?

…he has been drinking green tea from age of 17 years old….every day, at least 1 liter?

…3 years ago he organised the first semi-marathon in Pitesti with 180 participants?

…he looooves lemons?

1/ How long have you been with Lugera?

Two years ago I started working at Lugera with the same thought that I had when I graduated: a new star is born in HR. Until now, it seems that I have all the changes to become one…or, at least, that’s what I like to say 😊. I’m fully aware that only work and ambition can guide you to evolution and a healthy growth from one day to another. I’m also lucky to work with a beautiful team that always stands by my side and that had a great impact on my professional maturity….by the way, guys, if you are reading now this interview, I would like to thank you! 😊

2/ What’s the most WOW thing that we don’t know about you?

I’m running. I’m running marathons. Hmm…if I remember I wrote this in my resume too. When I’m not running in the park, I’m running after candidates 😊. During these 5 years since I’m doing this, I ran in 16 marathons, in Romania and in other countries, and I don’t plan to quit very soon…I want to beat the record of 3 hours and 52 minutes…so you don’t know when you can meet me in the park or at the starting line of a marathon. I encourage anyone to accept, at least once, the challenge of running a marathon, because the joy you feel after crossing the finish line does not compare to any other experience.

Oh, I think that one of the things my colleagues don’t know about me is that Bury has a blog, my not-so-hidden corner where I used to write about my experiences from marathons and also about the campaigns and events that I organised with a bunch of friends. Unfortunately, this blog is no longer up-to-date, but maybe in the near future I will have the courage to launch a new version…because I have a lot to talk about.

3/ What’s your way to relax at the end of the day?

My supreme treat after a crazy day is…quite common (and boys will be on my side now): FIFA on XBOX and Game of Thrones….all of these while cycling on a stationary bicycle. For a few weeks, I’m the happy owner of a Netflix account and I’ve discovered a series of stand-up comedy, not very well-known, but I’m sure that you will love them. I’m leaving you here a short episode, but keep it for your lunch break 😊.

4/ What’s the funniest thing that happened to you lately?

How likely are two candidates with the same name to come for an interview the same day, at the same time? Guess what? The chances were 100%… Exactly, I was going to interview the wrong person.

5/ What’s your last post on Facebook?

Lately, I’ve become quite inactive on Facebook and I don’t really use to post, but when I’m doing it, I usually post about my passions: mountains routes, marathons, psychology stuff. I am more of a stalker 😊.

I think the last post on Flag Day (26th of June). If you look carefully, most of the places I go, I have the flag with me.

6/ What do you like most about your job?

Recruiter’s life can be very beautiful, though it seems like a minefield. You never get bored, you are always challenging yourself, there is not a day that goes by without meeting new people and learning something new. I like to think of myself as a successful man … because before going to sleep I can think about what I’m doing with a smile upon my face and in the morning I wake up with the same feeling.

7/ Who and what inspires you?

Every marathonist has his own story about how he started…and I was inspired by the example of a close friend who was training for a marathon, although maybe at a weight of 110kg many wouldn’t have given him a chance.

8/ How lucky are you and why?

I don’t consider myself lucky. I recently completed an online test that confirmed this to me, but one can dream! 😊

9/ Tell us about your day using a movie title..

Pirates of the Caribbean. Each one of them had a plan from the beginning and, although they were overturned by unforeseen situations, they eventually reached their destination. This is how my day as a recruiter looks like: CVs screening, interviews, candidates, client, but just like Jack Sparrow – The sea may be rough, but I am the Captain!

10/ If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into your office, what would it be?

Te invitam sa-i cunosti pe oamenii din Lugera – The People Republic, sa descoperi povestile lor si sa inveti din experientele lor.
