For our client, a leading energy company and one of the largest producers of electricity from renewable energies in Europe, we are looking for a Chief Accountant in Bucharest.
Descriere
Performing monthly and annual closing activities in line with group and statutory requirements, ensuring accurate and timely processing in SAP;
Preparing accruals, provisions, and financial statements under Local GAAP and IFRS (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, management reports);
Maintaining fixed asset records, coordinating annual inventories, and ensuring proper documentation;
Preparing and submitting tax declarations (VAT, corporate, local taxes) and ensuring compliance with legal deadlines;
Coordinating external and internal audits, providing documentation, and acting as the main contact for auditors and tax authorities;
Managing bank reconciliations, payment proposals, and treasury operations in SAP;
Monitoring changes in accounting and fiscal legislation and ensuring company compliance;
Supporting and supervising the accounting team and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
Cerințe
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in a senior or chief accountant role;
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
Strong knowledge of Romanian GAAP, fiscal legislation, and statutory reporting;
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel);
Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
Nice to have: experience with IFRS consolidation, multinational environments, or the energy sector, CECCAR certification.
