Test Development Lead (electronic industry)

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Test Development Lead to join our client's team, a multinational company specializing in engineering and electronics manufacturing services. In this key role, you will be overseeing both hardware and software test development, while playing an active part in the early phases of product design and industrialization.
Descriere
Overseeing the design and development of test systems, and coordinating efforts in both hardware and software test solutions;
Offering support to the global R&D team, and participating in product development from the concept phase;
Acting as the primary technical contact for test development projects, and ensuring client requirements, timelines, and budget constraints are being met;
Implementing complete test solutions, including custom test hardware (fixtures, adapters, load boards, instrumentation) and test software applications using platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, and embedded environments, to ensure comprehensive functional, parametric, and boundary testing;
Leading and mentoring engineers developing test systems for complex electronic products;
Training and mentoring test engineers and technicians, fostering a strong culture of continuous learning and engineering discipline;
Reviewing and approving testing strategies, and ensuring alignment with best practices and quality standards;
Interfacing with production and NPI teams to support the deployment and industrialization of test systems, while preparing complete documentation;
Collaborating closely with Program Managers, TPMs, Quality Engineering, and other engineering teams to ensure project alignment and delivery;
Developing relationships with external vendors and suppliers to source test equipment, fixtures, and calibration services as needed;
Optimizing test strategies and coverage, driving standardization across product lines, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, and leading root cause analysis and failure investigations in close collaboration with product and quality engineering teams;
Preparing, updating and managing project plans, timelines, and risk assessments using specific tools;
Participating in audits, compliance reviews, and customer validation activities related to test processes and system performance.
Cerințe
Must have:
Proven experience in a comparable role, including a minimum of three years in a leadership capacity;
Strong background in electronics manufacturing, with hands-on involvement across both hardware and software development processes;
Demonstrated proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand, with practical experience in automated test system development;
In-depth understanding of test development methodologies, including test architecture, validation strategies, and implementation best practices;
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a closely related field;
Excellent English communication skills—spoken, written, and reading—suitable for cross-functional collaboration in a global environment;
A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of taking initiative, driving decisions independently, and navigating complex challenges in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting.
Nice to have:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, with the ability to identify test points and validate circuit logic;
Familiarity with Boundary-Scan technologies and experience using Microsoft Project Plan or equivalent project management tools.
