For one of our clients, a multinational computer technology corporation and the second-largest software company in the world, we are looking for a BI Developer.
Descriere
Extracting tables from the ETL layer and integrating them into the Oracle Semantic Modeler to build robust data structures;
Defining actionable ETL requirements and user stories while partnering with data engineers to ensure the backend architecture fully supports the semantic model;
Assisting in BI data modeling (star schemas) to ensure data is structured correctly for business use;
Engaging directly with users to identify front-end errors and troubleshooting the data flow from source to dashboard;
Writing, reviewing, and optimizing SQL queries to validate data integrity and improve report performance;
Performing critical maintenance tasks, including defect triage, incident resolution, and updating semantic models or dashboards based on user feedback;
Participating in 2-week sprints by contributing to backlog refinement, estimation, and sprint retrospectives;
Documenting the entire data journey—including models, ETL requirements, lineage, and test cases—following internal standards;
Following data governance and security guidelines while adhering to CI/CD and change-management processes.
Cerințe
Required Qualifications
Demonstrating experience in BI, reporting, or data engineering, with proficiency in SQL;
Applying knowledge of data warehousing concepts, such as star schemas, facts/dimensions, and Slow Changing Dimensions;
Utilizing analytical skills to walk through real-world examples, such as a Sales BI model;
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field;
Displaying strong communication and documentation skills and showing a willingness to learn enterprise standards;
Acting as a proactive team player when it comes to problem-solving and escalation management.
Ideal Qualifications
Navigating Git-based workflows, Agile/Scrum environments, and ticketing tools like Jira or Azure DevOps;
Troubleshooting performance issues in BI dashboards and SQL queries;
Gaining exposure to data quality and testing frameworks;
Working with Oracle OBIEE/OAC, Oracle Semantic Modeler, or similar tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAP BO.
