Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager

For our client, a global conglomerate with diverse activities, present in Romania through strategic investments in industry and green energy, we are looking for an Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager in Bucharest.

Descriere


Ensuring complete statutory accounting and tax compliance business processes;
Reviewing and reconciling trial balances in line with monthly reporting deadlines;
Preparing the company Balance Sheet for the Romanian legal entity;
Performing hands-on bookkeeping of accounting transactions within the accounting system, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, etc.;
Preparing tax calculations and declarations (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, etc.) while ensuring accuracy and compliance with Romanian tax legislation;
Implementing new fiscal changes (e-Factura, e-VAT, e-Transport, etc.);
Liaising with external consultants for preparing and updating the transfer pricing file;
Assisting with the timely preparation and filing of all tax-related returns;
Resolving complex accounting and tax issues and implementing optimal solutions;
Staying updated on changes in fiscal legislation and local/international accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement;
Ensuring that company policies affecting taxes are compliant with applicable regulations;
Maintaining professional relationships with tax authorities and managing financial audits effectively;
Keeping the management team informed of changes in tax legislation and regulations;
Monitoring changes in tax and accounting regulations and ensuring their implementation;
Developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements;
Conducting treasury balance reviews;
Producing and maintaining internal reports as requested by management (e.g., CAPEX projects, re-invoicing services);
Preparing statistical reports as required by authorities;
Liaising with tax and accounting service providers and supporting the improvement and automation of accounting and tax compliance activities, including a future SAP implementation.

Cerințe


University degree in accounting;
Chartered Accountant (CECCAR member) is considered a plus;
Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with proven expertise in preparing financial statements under Romanian Accounting Standards;
Strong knowledge of taxation and financial statement preparation;
Deep understanding of Romanian legislation and its application in accounting practices;
Exposure to international business environments and collaboration with group companies and foreign stakeholders;
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken;
High level of accountability and a results-driven mindset suitable for a start-up investment environment;
Experience in maintaining relationships with auditors and fiscal authorities;
Willingness to work exclusively from the office (Dimitrie Pompeiu area, near Pipera Metro Station).
